How to Prepare Your Cat for Their First Boarding Stay
December 1, 20245 min readPurr Stay Team
Start with Short Visits
Before a longer stay, consider booking a daycare session or two. This helps your cat become familiar with the new environment, smells, and sounds without the stress of an overnight stay.
Bring Comfort Items
Familiar scents can be incredibly soothing for cats. We encourage you to bring:
- Their favorite blanket or bed
- A worn t-shirt with your scent
- Their preferred toys
- Their regular food to maintain diet consistency
Update Vaccinations
Ensure your cat's vaccinations are current. We require proof of vaccination for all boarding guests to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Communicate Special Needs
Let us know about any medications, dietary requirements, or behavioral quirks. The more we know, the better we can care for your cat.
